Golden Rose Holographic Party

Hello!
This is the last holo party (for now, until I receive my Ellen Gold holo) and I have for you the most affordable ones in my stash. Golden Rose is the brand behind those polishes called "Paris Holographic". They all have a scattered holographic finish, some being stronger than others. They have a very weak holo effect but I don't mind, I like discreet ones so I can wear them to work. The Paris Holographics retail for $3.49 on the website with free shipping over 20$. I had no complaint on the formula or application and I love the bottles which are shaped like the Eiffel Tower. On to the pics!
All swatches are two coats of each polish without top coat.

Color Club Holographic Party!

Hello!
My one and only Color Clubs are holos! I don't know why the other colors I tried chipped fast on me. I am very happy with those because they are one coater, dry fast, and you can stamp with them. I have seen people complaining about the holographic effect but it's not a big deal. Yes it's not as holo as Nfu Oh 61 but it is way more holo than my Golden Roses. On to the pics!
All swatches are without top coat.

China Glaze Kaleidoscope Party!

Good morning!

It's another holo party with China Glaze. The Kaleidoscope collection is comprised of scattered holos, I love them because they are discreet yet sparkling. The formula is nice and applied easily in two coats. It's less holo than the OMGs and Designer Series, but still beautiful! Which one is your favorite? Mine is He's Going In Circles :)
All swatches are without top coat.

Nails Inc - Baker Street

Hello!

I finally got my hands on this beautiful royal blue creme! Nails Inc Baker Street is my first polish of the brand, and from what I have seen surely not my last. It was opaque in one coat and the formula is so easy to work with and covers the nail like butter. I rarely gets compliments with plain shades, but this one is exception to the rule. A must have, must get now! On to the pics

Hello!
I kind of regret having this on today because I will be packing like crazy. Let me show you the pics before anything bad happen to this manicure lol. I hope you like it :)

China Glaze OMG Party!

Good morning!
It's time for my China Glaze holos to shine a little. I completed this collection by swapping with some lovelies ladies, and getting the jackpot in a nail salon. I like the OMGs because they dry so fast, there is no need of top coat. I also love the smooth linear holographic finish, which is similar to Nfu Oh, Make Up Store, and Gosh. The only downside is that they chip pretty fast.
All swatches are two coats of each polish without top coat.

Hits No Olimpo Party!

Afternoon lovelies!
I haven't forgotten about the holo parties lol I have been busy with packing things for my upcoming move but I found a little time for my pretties. Hits Speciallita is the brand that got me into holos. I remember my first purchase was Zeus and I was so curious at the holographic effect as it was new to me lol  I love the collection, the choice of names are spot on and there's a nice variety of colors. The No Olimpo collection is named after Greek Gods and is comprised of 13 polishes. Thanks to my brother and his God of War game, I know a little about Greek mythology lol but I discovered some fun facts while searching for more info. The application was not the best, I had a few bad brushes too but I managed to work it in two coats. On to the pics!

Lazy Days of Summer #1 - Beach Themed

Yes Summer is here! We had so much fun with the April Summer Brings May Flowers that most of us decided to do a summer challenge and all came up with theme ideas. It's my favorite season of the year so I'm glad to be part of this challenge. I like how generic the themes are so I can interpret it in my own ways and go at my own pace. Let's go!

My first memories of the beach were pictures of me as a toddler in a nautical stripes outfit. I wanted my mani to reflect this time. Hope you like it!

K's Special Fridays #14 - Magic Potion

Hello again!
It's been a time since the last K Special Friday so I'm back with a franken that really came out of nowhere. I had some franken in round bottles and wanted them to be in my signature square bottle so it started from there. I just poured the extras into another bottle and Voila! We have Magic Potion. It was born from the mix of RoseCandy ExplosionHollywood Glam I, and Midnight Party. It is a squishy magenta jelly with round holo and small glitter. This is two coats with one coat of Seche vite. Love it!

Let's go Miami Heat!

Hello again!
Today is game day! I live in Miami so I totally had to represent my team in Game 5 (and I hope the last game) of the 2012 NBA Finals. The Miami Heat will be going against the Oklahoma City Thunders and we are leading the series 3-1. Today will be crazy in the city and I'll be out to experience it. So yeah this nail art is my way of supporting my team. Let's go Heat! I'm glad of the result, not too bad for something I free handed.

Cacee BFF - Pixie

Good morning!
I hope you are having a good start of the day. I just can't wait for the week end to go out a little and my nails translate that lol. I have another Cacee BFF polish and this one is a silver scattered holo! Pixie is sheer enough to be a top coat but can also get to full opacity with three coats. As experienced before with Lucy another Cacee holographic that I have, the finish is grainy, so you need to add a top coat. Not a problem because I use it with almost every polish :) On to the pics!

OPI Designer Series & co Party! (pics heavy)

Good morning!
Ok sit and relax, get some munchies and sodas before scrolling down! These are my treasures. For real I have a lot of holos but it's sentimental between me and my OPI Designer Series. It took me 7 months (since Dec 2011) of dusty hunting, stalking blog sales, ebay auctions, MUA swap list, and having good nail polish friends to complete my collection. I cherish it because I had to sweat to get it, we all know they are very hard to find. It's not the complete collection, my holo franken top coat has nothing to envy to Standing Room Silver Only, so yeah I only hunted the ones I like. I love the formula, one of the best and the application went perfect in two coats. All swatches are without top coat. On to the pics!

Up Colors Holographic Party!

This is another summary of my Up Colors holos. I already reviewed them a long time ago but the polish maniac I am wanted them under one post :) You can click on each polish name to be redirected to an individual post. On to the pics!

Top Beauty - Dia e Noite

Hello!
I have a special polish to show you today. Well it's new to me. I received this Photochromic polish, meaning that it changes color depending if you are exposing them under the sun or not. It's from the brand Top Beauty and wear wells its name Dia e Noite (Day and Night). It shows white at night and under the shade and changes to a light sky blue shade under sun lights. Nail art does not affect the base, you can add glitter, holo top coat, stamp over it, sponge etc... I was eager to see how Dia e Noite will play so I went with three coats and I stamped with BM 222, Sally Hansen Insta Dry Lightening and Brisk Blue. On to the pics!

Ozotic Holographic Party!

Good morning!
Starting the day with an Ozotic party. It's all about thinking a step further and this brand is another example an innovative brand. I don't own a lot of Ozotic holos but I appreciate the ones I have for their uniqueness. All swatches are three coats without top coat. On to the pics!

Jade Holographic Party!

Afternoon!
Let's continue the holo week party with Jade. I finally received the rest of the polishes from Brazil yesterday and that complete my collection. The Jade holos come in an 8ml bottle and are super pigmented. The colors are so vibrant and sparkly, I love them. Nice coverage and fast drying time, I have no complaints on this collection, it's a success! All swatches are two coats without top coat.

KKCenterHK Review - Ebalay Iridescent Nail Polish A07

Good morning!

I was contacted by Maggie from KKCenterHK who offered me to review a product of my choice. My choice wasn't easy to make as this website carries nail decals, glitter, crakles, glow in the dark, matte polishes, and many more. They also have stamping plates but my attention focused on a particular collection of 11 multichromes. I chose Ebalay A07, which shifts from copper to blue to violet. The bottle shape is similar to those of OPI, it comes in 15ml, and retails for $7.24. Ebalay A07 is pretty sheer, so I layered two coats over Wet N Wild Black Creme and the formula applied nicely. It's not goopy nor runny, just perfect! I'm sure it will look beautiful over dark blues and purples. On to the pics!
All swatches are without top coat so you can see how shiny the finish is.

Accessorize - Aztec

Accessorize is a UK brand I didn't know anything about until I received this polish in a swap package. I did a little research on the brand and it has an extensive inventory of shades of cremes, shimmers, and multichromes! Aztec is part of the Illusion collection and flashes from green, copper, purple to blue. The formula was sheer so I layered two coats over Gosh Purple Heart, without top coat. It looks pretty similar to Orly Space Cadet, but I will be surprised that they are actual dupes. On to the pics!

Love me some glitter

Who doesn't love glitter? I haven't met you yet lol I don't like huge chunky glitters but I'm a fan of anything sparkly. Glitters compliment manicures and are so versatile. They come in all shape and size. You can layer them, wear them in French tip, sandwich it between a jelly etc... the possibilities are endless. They can be a pain to remove but if you google "glitter polish removal with foil" you won't be afraid to wear it again. My base is two coats of OPI Jade Is The New Black and I dabbed a thin coat of OPI Rainbow Connection. So yummy!

Layla Hologram Effect Party!

Hello lovelies!
Please sit comfortably because it's holo party! And this one is from, Layla, the Italian brand behind the Hologram Effect collection. Let me tell you, I had high expectations on those and I'm not disappointed. They are the most holo polishes in my stash, in the same range as Gosh Holographic. There's seriously no match with my Luduranas, Hits, Opi Dses and Glitter Gals. I'll definitely have to do a comparison when I have some time. I bought a few of the Laylas on Aveyou where they retail for $15.50. I used the coupon code ALLCHIC and I don't know if it's still valid but you can always try. I have seen many girls complain about the application, but I did not have any bald spots or issues. The trick is to do base coat (I went with Essie Ridge Filler Base Coat), Seche Vite (or any fast dry top coat), polish, polish. It applied perfectly this way and was opaque in two coats. All swatches are without top coat.

A England Party!

Morning lovelies!
Today's party is featuring A England, one of my favorite brand. I enjoyed reading the story behind each collection and the meaning of every polish. It is unique, fresh, and has that plus value that sometimes lacks in mainstream collections. The formula is easy to work with and is opaque in two coats for most of them, some are one coaters, which is cool because you can also stamp with them :) On to the pics!
*Some of the descriptions were taken from A England website

Gosh - Purple Heart

Good afternoon!
Well I had to change my nails after my little fail on the tie dye manicure. I am so lucky to have polish sisters who are so thoughtful. I had Purple Heart by Gosh in my wishlist for a long time until I received it as a surprise from the lovely PrettyKittyClaws. Imagine my joy when I saw my lemming! It is a beautiful dark base with green to purple duochrome particles. The formula went smoothly in two coats, no streaks or bubbles, and it dried fast. What more to ask for? See for yourself :)

Tie Dye nails

Hello!
From a clothing trend to my nails, here is my first attempt to Tie Dye nail art. I went with a summery version of the original one. I used China Glaze Moonlight as a base, then OPI Hot & Spicy, Paint My Moji-Toes Red, and Vodka & Caviar. I just needed a toothpick to drag the polish while it was goopy. Let me know what you think about it!

Blue diagonal manicure

Afternoon lovelies!
On the menu a simple diagonal nautical manicure. It was really easy to execute, all you need are two colors, a pastel one and a darker shade, a nail art striper, and rhinestones of your choice. Blue is a color I have learned to appreciate in nail polish, it just goes with everything and the spectrum of blue shades is limitless. I went with two coats of Barry M Blue Moon as a base. It is a baby blue pastel creme that has a lovely aerial look when worn by itself. OPI Road House Blues is a rich navy creme. I love the result, simple yet classy :)

Jade Holographic - Vermelho Surreal

Morning!
I'm sure most of you already know about Jade, the new Brazilian brand making waves since the recent release of its collection of holographic nail polishes. You know me I had to snag one and try it! I received Vermelho Surreal as a gift from the lovely Tami from Brazil. It is one of the 10 gems part of the Jade Holográficos collection, and is a fiery red which wears well its name. It's surreal! This is a true red holo, unique and in the range of Glitter Gal Code Red. It was opaque in two coats, applied nicely, and dried fast. I added one coat of Seche vite, which did not dull the holo effect. I just love it when I don't need to have a special base or do tricks when I wear my holos. I actually don't use any special aqua base except with Gosh and Layla holographics. Enough bla bla bla, on to the pics!

Glitter Gal 3D Holographic Party!

Morning!
Today is the official start of  nail parties in which I will feature my stash of holo by brands. I'm starting with Glitter Gal, the Australian brand behind the 3D holographic collection, which is comprised of gorgeous linear holos. The formula applied like butter and dried fast in a shiny finish. All swatches are two coats of each polish with top coat. On to the pics!

Nubar - Reclaim

Afternoon!
Finally a nice green holo in my stash! I don't like Glitter Gal Green and I'm actively looking for China Glaze L8R G8R (holla if you have a hook up) so I'm pleased to have scored Reclaim by Nubar. I bought it from an Amazon seller, but you can purchase it on Nubar too. It's a beautiful green linear holo. The particles are different from OPI Designer Series, Hits, Ozotic, and Ludurana. It actually has a closer look to the China Glaze OMG collection. The application was smooth, opaque in one coat and dried so fast, like seriously!
All swatches are two coats of Reclaim with top coat.

Make my heart melt

Hello lovelies!
This is a quick post to show you a nail art that I did. Mommy Does  Her Nails has a contest for her one year blog anniversary (happy bday!), what a cool way to celebrate instead of a giveaway, I'm really digging that and might jump into it when mines come :P. Don't worry there are still 280 something days lol. Well the manicure that I came up with is not that bad of a result for a freehand beginner, I'm proud of myself. K's Special Fridays #13 - Moon Dust pigments remixed

Hello franken aficionados!
This is a follow up of my Moon Dust post from two weeks ago. I added spectraflair and drops of black polish to those pigments and there you go from top coats to multichrome holographics! I didn't make them at the same moment so they are all different, some are more holos, others are too dark because I added too much drops of black. I would advise to go with 5 drops of black and mix it with a clear suspension base, followed by 3 straw scoops of the pigment, then 3 other straw scoops of spectraflair. It gives you room for error. I wasn't feeling like removing my mani, so I swatched them on a nail wheel. What you will see is two coats without top coat.

1. Luna Blue SF (shifts from cyan, blue to purple with holo finish)
2. Aisha Gold SF (shifts from gold, green to blue with holo finish)
3. Crescent Crimson SF (shifts from copper tones to purple)
4. Indu Rose SF (shifts from indigo, purple, copper with holo finish)
5. Lavender Luz (shifts from copper, purple to blue with holo finish)

Multichrome showdown! (very pics heavy)

Morning peeps!
Ozotic, Ludurana and Hits Speciallita are getting in the ring for this ultimate multichrome showdown! They are in my opinion the brands with the most innovative collections on the market, so I thought a comparison was needed. Pics now and talk later! All swatches, unless noted, are without top coat and were taken in artificial light.

Hits - Daring

Hello!
Another pretty multichrome from the Hits Mari Moon collection on the menu! This one is part of the Unique set. It flashes from purple, blue, teal, to green. The formula was better and built easily in three coats. I like it a lot, it's another unique shade that I don't have in my stash. On to the pics!

Hits - Unconventional

Hello again!
Wow I have a gem for you today! The polish I'm wearing today is called Unconventional and is one of the eight multichromes part of the Mari Moon collection. This masterpiece was designed by Hits Speciallita, the genius behind the No Olimpo holographics. The collection comes in two sets, but you can buy it individually. Unconventional is part of the Unique set, the second set is Modern. I went with two coats without top coat. This is the sexiest multichrome ever and my favorite of the Mari Moons. I see copper, red, burgundy, violet, and blue. I'm not a fan of the formula, but it's not a big deal. On to the pics!

Ludurana - Esplendido

Morning lovelies!
I'm almost done wearing all those polishes I received from Brazil. This is actually the last holographic of my Ludurana collection. It is silver, it has scattered holo particles and it smells good! I loved the application and the drying time, but was kind of disappointed because I expected it to be more holo. What is cool with Esplendido is that you can also use it as a top coat!. There is no sun today, so I took all my pics with flash. I went with three thin coats and added a coat of Seche vite.

Cacee BFF - Lucy

Cacee BFF is a new brand is my stash. I found it at my local nail supply store for $2.50 for a 15ml bottle and they have some good choices so I decided to give it a try. I chose Lucy, a beautiful plum polish with scattered holographic particles. The formula is thick, you can get away with one coat, but I went with two. It does dry gritty so you need to add a top coat. I went with one coat of Seche vite. I love it so far! I can't wait to go back and raid the place :)

Finaflor Disfarce Vs Impala Sex Appeal - Part 2

Morning!
It's take two of the Finaflor and Impala multichrome comparison. If you remember my last post, they are dupes of each other when worn by themselves. I wanted to layer them over a dark base and see if there would be any difference in the color shift. I used one coat of Wet N Wild Black Creme as a base, and then applied two coats of each polish. Finaflor Disfarce is on my index and ring fingers, and Impala Sex Appeal is on my middle finger and pinkie. They both shift from gold, copper, pink, to purple. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I'm glad I have both because I plan to use them a lot. These will be always layered, I prefer that to their original look.
All swatches are without top coat.

Summery gradient and stamping!

It's me again!
Summer is my favorite season and to celebrate it, I wanted to do a really bright gradient. I was kind of surprised that I didn't have any greens, yellows, or oranges in my stash. so I went to the nail supply store and ended up with OPI Need Sunglasses? (a super bright yellow creme), OPI Green-Wich Village (grass green creme), and OPI In My Back Pocket (orange creme). I used a special sponge that I got from a Konad sponging kit but any make up sponge will do the trick. Hope you like it!

Ludurana - Maravilhosa

Good morning!
This is the last of my collection of Ludurana holos, I couldn't find it anywhere and didn't want to pay full price for it (it is 8ml) so I waited and waited and waited until one day it went on sale on Llarowe. I'm glad that I was patient enough because it's beyond beautiful! It's pink, holo, and sparkles likes crazy. As usual, I went with three coats of Maravilhosa with top coat. On to the pics!

Ludurana - Supremo

Good afternoon lovelies!
You already know I love holographic polishes. I cannot get enough of them! I stalked Ninja Polish's website and got Supremo as soon as I got the email notification that it was available. It is a beautiful lilac linear holographic. The formula builds nicely in two coats and dries fast. It also smells very good, like all the other polishes (both multichromes and holo) from the Ludurana Aurora Boreal collection. What you will see is three coats with top coat, in full sun light. Gorgeous!

K's Special Fridays #12 - Candy Explosion

Hello!
I'm back at experimenting! The polish I created is called Candy Explosion. It is a pink jelly holographic with round holo glitter. I love the mix and how discreet the holo is so much that whenever I have a free time, I will do a clear glitter/holo top coat that I can layer over different colors. Let me know what you think about this one, it was really easy to do. I used two coats without top coat.
