Lazy Days Of Summer #10 - Favorite Fruits

Hello!
Another challenge and this is the time to show my love for my favorite fruit. I really wanted to do strawberry nails, but I don't like the fruit so I went for kiwi, which I love. I used Catrice King Of Greens, Sally Hansen White On, and Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris to achieve this look. Hope you like it!

Ludurana - Yellow Green

Argh it's Monday
I don't have a lot to say lol it was kind of long swatching this collection. I can't wait to get back to my lazy challenge and some cute nail art :) Last but not least, I present to you Yellow Green, which is yellow/gold by itself and green over black. The formula applied nicely and I like it better over black. On to the pics!

Ludurana - Violet Blue

Good Sunday peeps
I hope you are having a fabulous start of the day. I made plans to go to the Keys and enjoy the nice weather. and I'm wearing Violet Blue from the Ludurana duochrome collection. It's a very delicate pink with purple shimmer by itself (index and middle finger) that also turns into a fierce blue when layered over black or a dark color. Another hit in my book!

Ludurana - Turquesa Red

Hello!
I have for you another Ludurana duochrome. I'm sorry for how my ring finger looks, it had nothing to do with the formula, just me adding too much polish on the brush. Turquesa Red blew me away, I love it by itself (index and ring finger) and also over black (pinkie and middle finger). By the way when I say "duochrome" here I refer to the name of the collection. I guess what Ludurana meant by it was the double ability to get different colors with the same polish. On to the pics!

K's Special Fridays #18 - Violetta

Good morning!
We continue with another polish made out of this magic pigment that is spectraflair. The first time I received it, I went overboard and made 16 holo polishes. As I told you before I don't remember the recipes of these so I'll go directly to the basics. Violetta is a blurple linear holo, opaque in two coats. I mixed blue with purple, few drops of black to darken it, then added the suspension base and 4 straw scoops of spectraflair.

Ludurana - Red Pink

Good morning!
Red Pink is another beauty created by Ludurana and part of its duochrome collection. Yes, the beautiful pink with purple shimmer and the deep purple are the same polish! I wore two coats by itself on my index and ring finger and layered one coat over black on the others. I could wear my nails like that I love the versatility and color match of this one. What do you think of it?

Ludurana - Red Orange

Hello lovelies!
I'm back with a new Ludurana polish and this one is beautiful! Red Orange is an orange to copper duochrome when worn by itself (index and middle finger) but it changes completely when applied over black. It goes from copper/brown to green. I was greatly surprised at the formula too, less sheer than the others and opaque in two coats. On to the pics!

Models Own Beetlejuice Collection

Good morning!
I ordered the Beetlejuice collection from Models Own and it was delivered yesterday, right in time before I leave the US tomorrow (*Edit - not tomorrow anymore, in two weeks). I was between packing them in my luggage or swatch them, well you know who won! This collection is comprised of beautiful duochromes with different finishes, they are not unique but it's nice to have them in a set. It is so versatile, some are shimmers, glassfleck, or metallic. Opaque in two coats and showing vibrant color shift, I have no complaint on these polishes. Which one is your fav?

Lazy Days Of Summer #9 - Thirst Quencher!

Hello!
I told you I will be on point on this challenge. Thirst Quencher is today's theme and I did a sponged gradient with OPI Did It On 'Em, Catrice King Of Greens, and topped it with Fingerpaint Flecked. It's supposed to be a Mojito manicure, or Caipirinha, lol pick one and you have my favorite summer cocktails. What do you think of it?

Lazy Days Of Summer #8 - In The Garden

Hello!
The Lazy Days Of Summer challenge really got me lazy lol I feel behind but thanks everyone can go at its own pace so I was just chilling and taking my time, but I have so many ideas that I will keep them coming. Today's theme is "In The Garden" and I wanted my nails to reflect different things I see while taking my summer walks with my dog. Since mister likes to sniff everything around, I sometimes see the most funny things. From fishes in the lake taking some sun to lizards chasing each others. Double stamping was the perfect way to interpret it so on to the pics!

Ludurana - Orange Cyan

Hello there,
It's a another day and a new Ludurana duochrome to show you. Again I'm not a fan of this one by itself, but I can definitely wear it over dark colors if the color shift is as amazing as that. This is a true duochrome, that goes from olive gold to green. I wore two coats of Orange Cyan by itself on my index and ring finger, and over Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris on my middle finger and pinkie. Love it over black!

K's Special Fridays #17 - Pour Me Some & Mojito

Hello holo aficionados!
I'm showing you two creations today because their names go well together. Both of them were made to satisfy the need to have some holo colors that I did not have already. I'm super proud of them. On to the pics!

Pour Me Some is a sparkly burgundy linear holo. I mixed Illasmaqua Scarab and a NYC fuchsia polish in a clear suspension base, then added 4 straw scoops of spectraflair. This is two coats without top coat.

Ludurana - Orange Blue

Hey!
Ludurana duochrome goodness on the menu! This is a shade that I like more by itself than layered over black. Orange Blue is a pink champagne (if that exists lol) with blue shimmer. The kind of color I rarely go for, so I'm glad it's included in this duochrome collection. What do you think of it?

Ludurana - Magenta Gold

Morning lovelies!
Well I didn't really want to sheer (share) this one because I hate how the base looks by itself. Magenta gold is a yellow with pink shimmer when worn by itself and a deep purple with fine gold particles when layered over black. I will never wear it by itself, maybe I'll use it as an enhancement on my yellows to have that pink shimmer. What do you think of this one?

Ludurana - Green Gold

Hello lovelies!
We continue with another day of Ludurana goodness. Green Gold is a metallic turquoise, I find the name kind of weird for the shade. It was opaque in two coats but the formula was kind of runny. As you can see, there's no drastic change between wearing it by itself and layering it over black. On to the pics!

How To - Inlinkz thumbnails

Good afternoon!
After seeing the April Showers Bring May Flowers family album, a few of you asked me how to add thumbnails to your blog. It might seem complicated at first, but it's so easy when you get a hang of it. Let's start!

Step 1 - Go to the Inlinkz website. Create your account and wait for your activation emails. Make sure to check your spam folder as I received mines there.

Ludurana - Blue Pink

Good morning!
Back in December, Ludurana released a collection of 10 duochromes that didn't get much love in the nail polish community. I had a hard time finding swatches at that time, so I ordered the whole collection from Brazil, but it is now available on Ninja Polish for $7.50 a bottle. Today, I have for you Blue Pink, which is a beautiful baby pink with blue shimmer when worn by itself (index and middle finger), but shifts to a dusty blue when layered over black (middle finger and pinkie). I used two coats of Blue Pink and it applied nicely. The only complaint I have is the sheerness of the formula. What do you think of it?

Lazy Days Of Summer #7 - Dotting Tool Summer Fun

Hello lovelies!
I was eager eager for this theme as I love my dotting tool I use it all the time. It is one of my favorite type of nail art along with french diagonal manis because they are so easy and versatile, the possibilities are endless. I'm wearing tan and I have a yellow purse so I wanted my nails to match it and also have that pop of summer colors. The base is one coat of OPI Did You Ear About Van Gogh, dotted with Sally Hansen Brisk Blue and Lightening, Yummy!

Joyeuse Fête Nationale - Happy Bastille Day!

Hello!
Today is the celebration of the French National Day and I wanted to share this sponge gradient that was the base of my 4th of July manicure. Wishing a fun and safe holiday to my frenchies. I will be celebrating with some nice gourmet food. Have a great Saturday!

Thanks for reading!

K's Special Fridays #16 - In My Skinny Jeans

The story is simple. I wanted to dupe OPI DS Glamour and failed to my original goal (and to others as you will see in future posts lol) but I still like the result. In My Skinny Jeans is a light blue denim holo (the name tells it all). It covered nicely in two coats and I didn't add any top coat. I don't remember the recipe as I mixed almost every blue in my stash but give it a try and have fun!

Lazy Days Of Summer #6 - Pool Party

Good morning!
I was eager for this theme as I love pool parties (my last two birthdays were ones). I wanted my mani to represent the fun and games people like to play at the pool. I started with one coat of Sally Hansen Brisk Blue as a base and then stamped with BM313 and Sally Hansen White On to achieve the pool look. On my pinkie is a beach ball, ring finger is the pool and the security fence, on my middle finger my favorite swimsuit, and on my index finger, I wrote Splash because I love to jump in the water and splash my friends around lol.

Lazy Days Of Summer # 5 - Inspired By Your Favorite Towel

Good morning!
I really want to say thank you to the ladies taking part in this challenge along with the ones from the Florida Polish Society for helping me putting my ideas together for this mani. See today's challenge is inpired by your favorite towel and mine is a map of Florida with different symbols distinctive of this state. I picked specific designs and interpreted them my way. Hope you like it!

Lazy Days Of Summer # 4 - Flip Flops

Hello!
Flip Flops is the 4th theme of the Lazy Days of Summer challenge and I knew already what I was going to do thanks to Bundle Monster and its new set of stamping plates. I wasn't the only one as you will see the harmony in the manicures done by the other ladies participating in this challenge. On to the pics!

Fan Brush Gradient

Happy Monday lovelies!
This is a quick post to show you the gradient I achieved with a fan brush. I only used that brush to sprinkle glitter on my nails o.O I discovered the fan brush technique on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. I went again with some polishes in my untrieds. The base is OPI Cuckoo For This Color and the gradient was done with L'Oreal Flight Perle and Sation Electric Blue. Let me know what you think about it :)

Gosh - Ocean

Good morning!
I know I'm late to the party on Gosh Ocean but eh now I'm rocking in on my fingers, thanks to a lovely friend. Ocean is a gorgeous turquoise to blue/green duochrome that wears like iron. I used two coats with top coat, before doing a full house move out and cleaning. No chipping, only minor tip wear. This is a winner in my list. See for yourself!

Stripes!

Hello!
This is another nail art coming out of nowhere. I just used different nail art striping polishes over two coats of OPI Warm And Fozzie. It's easy and you can experience it with different colors, hope you like it!

K's Special Fridays #15 - Don't Blush

Hello!
TGIF! It's almost the week end and it's time for another franken post! This pretty and the ones I will show you during the following weeks were created way before I did the birthday club collection. I do apologize in advance because I do not have the exact recipes of all of them but I'll do my best to direct you the right way if you want to recreate it :) Don't Blush is a nude with pink undertones holographic polish. I was aiming for a more brownish tone but I guess I added too much holo pigment :) which I don't regret at all.
Name: Don't Blush
Recipe for a 15ml bottle = 1/4Brown + 1/4Dusty Pink + 2/4TKB suspension base + 4 straw scoops of spectraflair 35
All swatches are two coats of Don't Blush without top coat

Black Roses' Bed - Tutorial

Good morning!
I always wanted to freehand a rose nail art but always procrastinated and ran to my stamping plates, but now it's no more in my to do list :) The dress I am wearing today inspired me to do this black roses manicure. I love how it came out. I only used a dotting tool but next time I'll try a fine nail art brush. Let me know what you think about it!

Lazy Days Of Summer # 3 - Flag Day

Happy 4th of July everyone!
The third theme of the summer challenge I'm taking part in is Flag Day. I have a day full of activities for the national American holiday. I decided to do a sponged gradient manicure with Nails Inc Baker Street, Sally Hansen White On and Rapid Red, then I stamped over it with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and BM14 (from the first Bundle Monster plates set). Love the result and especially seeing all those patriotic manicures :) Have a good time and a safe holiday!

Polish Days - Jelly Sandwich

Happy Jelly Sandwich day !

Well today is the second theme of Polish Days, which is a day where nail bloggers all over the world post about a single theme, at the same time. I missed Floam day because I didn't have the polish :( but jellies? eh they are easy to franken if you don't have any. Please click here to find out more about Polish days and how to participate as I know a few of you who will like to join.
For my mani I used Essie San Tropez, diluted with a clear base to have a jelly and Kleancolor Starry Purple.  On to the pics!

Flakies and Glitter manicure- Tutorial

Good morning!
I'm wishing you a beautiful start of the week! I'm exhausted as I spent time packing and u hauling. I got to go to the beach, which was the only relaxing part of my week end. I'm taking a deserving break and wish it could last more :) Ok on to the nails. I didn't know what to do so I picked some random untried polishes and came up with this reinvented french manicure. Hope you like it!

Lazy Days Of Summer #2 - Ombre

Hello!
This is day 2 of the Lazy Days Of Summer challenge! It's Sunday, sunny and I'm going to the beach. I'm moving out in a couple weeks and most of my polishes are bubble wrapped and packed, so I will be doing this challenge with what I have in hand. Luckily purple is one of the color trend for summer 2012 and I had some untrieds that matched the ombre theme. I hope you like it!
